Active Scripting (Javascript) is disabled or not
available
Active Scripting enables web sites to provide a more dynamic
and user friendly experience for the web site user. It enables
dynamic population of dropdown lists without the need to refresh
the screen, validation of data entered and more entertaining
effects such as changing pictures.
On the downside Active Scripting also allows dubious sites to
pop-up extra windows, potentially read cookies with personal
information or attempt to compromise your system. Microsoft and
Netscape have worked hard to reduce the risks of these security
threats, so that Active Scripting can be used for what it is
intended.
The EventWatch.com.au and Dateclaimer.com.au web sites
utilise Active Scripting to help make the web sites more
interactive and enjoyable. It is important that Active Scripting
is enabled when visiting these sites as well as others such as
abc.net.au, cellarmasters.com.au, rta.nsw.gov.au,
liveinaustralia.com.au, btonline.com.au as well as many many
others.
Active Scripting as it's called in Internet Explorer, or
Javascript as it is known to Netscape users is available in all
version 4 browsers and above. If you are using a version 3
browser we strongly recommend you upgrade.
If you have modified your browsers security settings from the
default (Active Scripting is enabled by default) you may have to
enable it. Note. We strongly recommend Active scripting is
disabled for mail - see your relevant Email package's help on
how to do this.
