Information on entering
the details for your events
Section
1 – Description Date and Time
Event Description
– Add a descriptive outline of your event.
Limited to 1000 characters.
Event Status
– Select from:
Note:
Provisional
events do not display on EventWatch.
Note: To Be Confirmed events will be displayed on EventWatch.
Note: Confirmed
events will be displayed on EventWatch.
Note: Cancelled
events will be displayed on EventWatch.
Note: Postponed
events will be displayed on EventWatch.
Relevant to
– Select from:
Note: Selecting this option means that these events will be displayed on
EventWatch, but will only be available for viewing once the 'include local
events' button is checked.
Interest
Group – Select from the list of
Interest Groups available. This
selection will form an important part of the search criteria.
You can have more than one interest group.
Event
Category – The event category should be one or 2 words of your choice
and will appear in the search result summary and is used for keyword searches.
The event category is displayed on search result listings and allows visitors to
quickly and easily find your event.
Additional
Search Words
– Add key words that will assist in identifying or classifying your event.
Start
Date / Time –
Must be a date in the future.
End Date / Time
- Must be less than 30 days after the
start date. Events are sorted on 'end date' so long running events will appear
at the end of searches when it is first put on and will gradually move up the
list as the end date draws nearer.
Duration – Enter the duration of your event.
Section
2 – Location and Cost
Eventwatch
requires location information to be structured to allow for consistent search
results to be provided. The
procedures for entering this data are outlined below:
Venue – If the venue for your event is a registered venue, select it
from the list and all associated details are populated. If it is not a
registered venue enter the name of the venue your event will be held at.
Address
- Please select the state and then the region your event will be held in. Please
note the regions used are based on postcodes and may not align exactly to the
many and varied existing tourist, local or statistical (ABS) regions.
Nearest
Cross St - This helps people find your event, but may be left blank
Entry
fee - Indicates whether an entry fee will be charged.
Cost
- Enter the cost details of your event here, including different rates for
children etc.
Section
3 – Contacts and Links
These details are
displayed when someone views your event details. All fields are optional.
Contact Name
– Provide a contact name.
Contact Email
– Provide the contact email, if wish to be contacted about your event.
Contact Phone
– Provide the contact phone number.
Contact Fax
– Provide the contact fax number.
Link to Website
– Provide a link to your website.
Contact Preferences
– Enter any preferences for contact times, or office hours, etc.
Section
4 – Additional Event Information
This
section allows you to add specific information about to how to get to your event
and what facilities are provided. This
information is optional but will generally enhance the appeal of your event.
The fields are all self explanatory, and you can add as little or as much
detail as you like.
